Educate Lanka Foundation received the following feedback and images from Krishnan Dhivyan, the medical student from the Eastern province. He has used his scholarship funds to make his first purchase of text books for a total of Rs. 12,578.
| Writing another chapter of its journey, Educate Lanka Foundation is pleased to announce its expansion to the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka with the sponsorship of Krishnan Dhivyan, a highly deserving 3rd Year Medical student at the Eastern University. |

On 3rd March 2009 in Batticaloa, ELF presented a scholarship of US$400 (Rs. 44,500) to Krishnan to help him purchase the essential books and supplies needed for medical school.
The distribution of the funds was supervised under Mrs. Shobana Deepan, the Administrator for Eastern Academy of World Education in Batticaloa. ELF will continue to monitor Krishnan’s progress and assist him with his needs as they arise.

ELF achieved this milestone after months of hard work and dedication of its volunteers. It believes that this opens doors for even greater opportunities in the future to assist other deserving students from the East and other under-served communities.
